How BackedBy Works
BackedBy helps you turn claims into structured evidence cards that can be shared, verified, and discussed.
State your claim
Write a clear, specific statement you want to back up with evidence. Good claims are:
- ✓Specific and measurable
- ✓Stated as a factual assertion
- ✓Limited to 100 characters for clarity
"Regular exercise can reduce the risk of depression by up to 30%"
Add your sources
Link to sources you would cite publicly. Each source is labeled by quality:
Original research, official documents, direct evidence
Analysis, reporting, or interpretation of primary sources
Expert opinion, personal accounts, testimonials
Set your confidence
Be honest about how certain you are. This is author-reported, not independently verified.
Share your proof
Your card gets a unique link. Share it anywhere—Twitter, Reddit, Discord, Notion, or embed it on your site.
Visibility options:
- • Public — Anyone can find and view
- • Unlisted — Only via direct link
- • Private — Only you can view (requires sign-in)
