BackedBy is a platform that allows users to create, share, and browse “evidence cards” — structured claims backed by sources. Users can attach evidence, set confidence levels, and share their cards publicly or privately.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you may need to create an account using Discord or GitHub authentication. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the security of your account
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us of any unauthorized use

4. User Content

You retain ownership of content you create. By posting content, you grant BackedBy a non-exclusive, worldwide license to display, distribute, and promote your public content.

You agree not to post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable.

5. Accuracy of Claims

BackedBy does not verify the accuracy of claims or evidence posted by users. Users are solely responsible for the accuracy of their content. The confidence levels and sources provided are user-generated and should not be taken as verified fact.

6. Disputes Feature

Users may flag claims they believe to be inaccurate. Disputes are for informational purposes and do not constitute a legal or factual determination. We reserve the right to remove content that violates these terms.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any illegal purpose
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Spread misinformation intentionally
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service
• Use automated systems to scrape or spam the Service

8. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these terms. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR USEFULNESS OF ANY CONTENT ON THE SERVICE.

BackedBy shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service.

11. Changes to Terms

We may modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
